My name is Gordon Perreault; my spirit name is Me Ko Tee Skun (Red Horn). I am from the Cree Nation of Northern Alberta (Lesser Slave Lake). In 1992, I relocated to British Columbia where I lived in and around Mission and Victoria, BC. I currently reside in Vancouver, BC.
My artistic influences come from my family background. My father, mother, and uncles were all talented artists. I started my own cultural journey in 1991. My journey began as a helper in cultural ceremonies. The Elders taught me to help others. I was also taught that the measure of my success in life is determined by the sacrifices I make.
I believe that I bring the West Coast and Cree Nations together with my own identity to create a style which is unique. Each painting that I create is born within myself of the teachings I have learned from the Elders. This life long journey started in 1986. I have Cultural Teachings as well as formal education. I attended Victoria College of Art in 2002-2004.
Currently my art is being shared with people all over the world. This includes Canada, USA, Europe, Asia, India, and the UK.
I am honored and I feel gratitude for all the people who have enjoyed my visions in the art I create.
